39 churches are located along the Way of St. James in the Weinviertel region. Four of these churches - the ones in Falkenstein, Leitzersdorf, Etsdorf/Kamp and Brunn im Felde - are dedicated to St. James and therefore of particular interest to pilgrims.

Many renowned artists and architects shaped the variety of churches in the Weinviertel region. Donate Felice D'Allio, Martin Johann Schmidt (the so-called Kremser Schmidt), Johann Georg Schmidt, Giovanni Baratta and many more have given the churches their unique character.
