Parish church

Großrußbach's three-naved parish church dating back to the second half of the 15th century is today characterised by renovations and decoration work done around 1900. Its patron saint, St. Valentine, is the patron saint of the lovers and also of injured feet, which is of special importance to the pilgrims on the Way of St. James. Legend has it that he healed the sick during his time as a bishop. He was killed in the 3rd century because of his faith.

Education centre Großrußbach

The adjacent castle houses the Archdiocese of Vienna's education centre which does important work in adult education for the Weinviertel region and the Archdiocese of Vienna. The chapel with its modern design invites people to gather around the altar whose twelve legs refer to the twelve apostles following Jesus Christ. In 2010, a pilgrim's hostel was built in one of the castle's wings.
